Annotation

The article examines various reminiscences in the “Midnight Verses” of A. Akhmatova. In the cycle poems of midnight can be found important themes of Shakespeare’s plays and Sonnets: the relationship of past and present, reality and dream, life and death, the music. Some of the motives of the “Midnight Verses” may be related to the translational activity of B. Pasternak, A. Radlova and A. Akhmatova. The sources of the poem “The Thirteen Lines” can be found in one of Tashkent’s episodes, in a letter from composer A. Lurie and in Shakespeare quotations from “Hamlet”.
