Annotation

Centuries of cultural, economical and political relations between the Germans and Slavs left trace in the languages. Czech is one of the Slavonic languages, which underwent the biggest influence of the German language. The article deals with contrastive and etymological analysis of German and Czech phraseological units. On the base of the analysis of phraseological units in both languages the following conclusion is made: German and Czech phraseological units have not only common typological teal tires, but share one common culturological and genetic base.
