Annotation

The article analyzes the creation of gender representations in educational texts in Russia and Germany. As a result of the comparative analysis it was possible to come to the following conclusions: In the Russian pedagogical space, despite the authors’ attempts to minimize androcentricity by neutralizing gender through various semiotic means, the male space of the textbook is more extensive and more significant than the female one (men act as subjects more often than women, their fields of activity and occupation are more widely represented). In the German pedagogical space, just a few examples of emancipation have appeared in educational texts: men bake pies and suffer from love, and women buy drills. However, a detailed study of the educational texts revealed that the semantic fields of “profession”, “sport” and “belonging” reproduce traditional gender stereotypes.
