Annotation

The complex of problems connected with functions and regularities of usage of initial elements in Russian bylinas are considered in the article. Their regional differences are absent practically, but the most singers choose some collection of initial particles and mini-formulas. They use their favourite ways of construction of verses and methods of connecting lines into tirades. Analysis of frequency of their usage lets to reveal falsifications of the texts edited by publishers and bylinas which have been recorded not during singing but during dictation by performers. No deviations from the canons of Russian epic are found in the texts from the collection of Kirsha Danilov. It is evident that they are traditional.
