Annotation
In the article an attempt is made to follow the motifs of the ‘childish‘and the ‘old-age‘ in Turgenev’s poetics which penetrate all his works. The article deals with the most important Turgenev’s novels, stories and with the letters of the writer. The author sought to emphasize the philosophical character of the motifs mentioned above and to describe their ambivalent nature. The ‘childish' motif often has ominous sense and is concerned with death, but the ‘old-age' one deals with the highest revelation of the world, with apocalypse sense. However all the investigations and conclusions have preliminary character.
