BOOK REVIEW: P.G. BOGATYREV’S FUNCTIONAL AND STRUCTURAL METHOD IN MODERN FOLKLORE RESEARCHES: COLLECTED ARTICLES AND MATERIALS (MOSCOW, 2015. 456 P.)

This reviewed work is dedicated to the memory of the outstanding Russian folklorist, ethnographer, researcher of folk theater and translator P.G. Bogatyrev (1893-1971). The collection of articles and materials consists of six sections: "Formation of the functional-structural method and its reception", "Poetics of folklore in the light of P.G. Bogatyrev's ideas", "Theater and theatricality in folk culture", "Problems of ethnography and folk art", "P.G. Bogatyrev and his contemporaries (archival finds, documents, memories)", "From scientific heritage of P.G. Bogatyrev (materials and bibliography)". The book to a large extent is a summary and result of many years of work of a large group of researchers on the scientific work of the scientist.
