Annotation
The article is focused on the impact orientation of spatial dimensions denoted in Russian and English by parametric adjectives in major meanings has on the types and character of their secondary meanings. The presence or absence of the orientation of the spatial dimension designated turns out to be a significant factor which determines a possibility of temporary meanings in the semantics of these adjectives as well as lays the foundations for their different quantitative and evaluative meanings.
