Annotation
The article deals with comparative nests of stable comparisons of the Russian language with the images of “rooster”, “hen” and “chicken”. The purpose of the analysis is to identify the similarities and differences between the comparative units of these nests at the semantic and pragmatic levels. Particular attention is paid to the gender aspect of the analysis of reproducible comparative units, as well as the peculiarities of the semantics and functioning of the names of the cubs (hen, chicken). The “female” and male signs-bases of comparative constructions are revealed.
