Annotation

The article reviews the fate of hexameter and antique logaoedic verses in the Russian poetry in the 18–19th centuries connected both to the aesthetics of classicism, romanticism, art for art’s sake, symbolism, and to the evolution of domestic versification theoretically focused on metric and rhythmical innovations and combination with music. In turn, the verbalization of Russian music that reached its apex at the turn of the 20th century was also due to diverse experiments in the field of musical metric rhythm system, including unique experiments of imitating antique versification, – the article summarizes the artistic results of countertendencies in the national culture.
