Annotation

‘Kafka and Dostoevsky’ is a comparative study of the phenomenon of ‘play reality‘ in both the works. The author accepts me idea of D. Merezhkovsky about the dramatic form of Dostoevsky‘s works and develops this concept by the structure of space in Kafka and Dostoevsky. Both the writers construct a theatre-like world, the idea of a marionette-like hero being also involved. This approach allows discussing the problem of human freedom and necessity, the necessity being the highest level of freedom.
