Annotation

Approximately 60 variants of Russian bylina ‘'Stavr Godinovich" are recorded by collectors. Researchers usually divide them into two versions - heroic and novelistic (it is spread in the region near the lake Onega). New records of this bylina are under investigation and the variants dependent on books or falsifications are revealed by the author of this article. It lets to define the peculiarities of both bylina versions and the regions of their circulation in tradition more exactly. The new arguments compel to doubt that Russian bylina "Stavr Godinovich” is the modification of novella tale. The author compares the variants of bylina and proposes some corrections into existing notions on genetic relationship of some texts belonging to the heroic version of bylina.
