Annotation
The article analyzes the role of ornithonyms in the formation of new words in the speech of the young which can be further subdivided into youth-speak and mi- litary-speak. All neologisms in the speech of the young, including ornithonyms, are built by means of metaphoric derivation of meaning. The article focuses on particular examples of such derivation and outlines their further functioning in modern Russian.
