Annotation
The subject of this article is translations of J. Thomson’s “The Hymn” by N.M. Ka- ramzin and V.A. Zhukovsky. The author analyzes philosophical content of these poems, J. Thomson’s influence on Russian Poetry, the meaning of his works for Russian poets, features of the poet’s natural philosophy and characteristics of the Russian Preromanti- cism and Romanticism.
