Detailed analysis and summarizing of all numerous A.S. Pushkin’s
remarks about M.V. Lomonosov allows noticing that Pushkin often compared ‘the father of Russian poetry’ with his predecessors and also with
his contemporaries. Pushkin’s comparisons of Lomonosov with Pindar,
Petrarch, some German and Russian poets such as I.Günter, G.R.Derzhavin,
V.K.Trediakovsky, A.P.Sumarokov are minutely considered in the article.
And these comparisons and confrontations in many respects help to clarify
Pushkin’s point of view about Lomonosov.
The aims of the article embraced the registration (as full as possible) and
analysis of Pushkin’s remarks about Lomonosov with corresponding commentaries. But the problem of Pushkin’s adoption of Lomonosov’s poetic traditions
and literary inheritance of the 18th century is the object of special research.
