Annotation
On the basis of the material from verse novels by M.Yu. Lermontov (“Skazka dlia detej”, “Tambovskaya kaznacheisha”) and I.S. Turgenev (“Parasha”, “Andrey”, “Pop”), the article considers the issue of Lermontov’s influence on the early works of the latter. The author of this article raises the questions related to the poetics and the content of verse novels – a popular genre of the middle of the 19th century in Russian literature
