Annotation
Goncharov supposed that there is a connection between creative types in the literatures of different nations. This idea is fully embodied in the writer’s artistic anthropology. «Faustian story» was mostly demanded from Goethe’s creativity. Goncharov created «Goethe’s features» in his characters, which gave many of his female characters human depth.
